Upgrading your Documents Page Experience

Continuing our rollout of the new Firmex UI

Setting a New Standard for VDR Usability

We’ve been busy upgrading Firmex, updating everything from the user interface (UI) to the core infrastructure to create a contemporary, future-proof platform. We’re excited to announce that we are continuing the rollout process so you can experience a faster, more intuitive VDR.

What’s changing?

In this release, we focus on the Documents page, the page you spend the most time on. In addition to a complete visual refresh, we’ve made changes to the UI to make your data room easier to use. For longtime users, you’ll notice changes to commonly used functions that will help simplify actions and focus your attention, accelerating your ability to get things done. Here are some key changes to note:

Improving Clarity

  • Doc Exchange has been renamed to Transfers, and Manage Documents has been renamed to Actions to make these actions more intuitive
  • Unread documents are now indicated with a red dot in front of the document name rather than being bolded – a more intuitive and universal indicator
  • Document description has been moved from the Documents Table into the Details Pane to declutter, better highlight what’s important, and make it easier to read
  • More in-product links to helpful Knowledge Base articles have been added

Enhancing Efficiency

  • The default number of rows shown in tables has been increased from 10 to 50, so you have fewer pages to navigate

Increasing Simplicity

  • The Move/Copy function has been separated into distinct menu options to reduce confusion

You will also notice speed improvements – performing multiple simultaneous uploads and organizing and navigating through your folders and documents will feel noticeably faster.

What’s staying the same?

While layouts have been updated and some buttons have moved around, the functionality of your VDR will not change. So while things may look a bit different, the range and outcome of the actions you perform will remain as expected.

When will I start seeing changes?

Depending on where you fall on our release schedule, you will see your new Documents page from late August to early September.
